Kawasaki KZ650 Top End Reassembly – Part 4

Kawasaki KZ650 Cylinder Block Installed

The fourth video in the series of repairing the top end of the 1977 Kawasaki KZ650 due to several leaking valves.  This segment shows the actual installation of the cylinder block onto the lower end of the engine.

Note… this will be the last in this series for a while as I’m pausing this project so I can start on the reconditioning of the 1977 Honda CB750 I profiled earlier.  I promised the owner I’d have the CB750 ready by Spring so I need to get started.

BTW, a reconditioning is much different than a restoration, which by my definition is generally a frame-off complete rebuild – of virtually everything.  A reconditioning is usually only repairing or replacing the fundamentals required get the bike operationally safe and rideable.  The reconditioning I typically perform does not include doing much, if anything, with cosmetics.
